Jeep Commander - the SUV of the average size released by the Daimler Chrysler company during the period from 2006 to 2010. Jeep Commander was presented in the general review in 2005 on New York Auto Show.
The car was offered buyers in the USA in three complete sets: Base, Limited, Overland. The Base version had the petrol V6 engine of 3,7 l and 210 h.p., Limited had already a V8 engine of 4,7 l, and at the Overland version the V8 engine of 5,7 l with a power of 330 h.p. was 305 h.p. For the European consumers the CRD model with the V6 engine of 3,0 l and 215 h.p. was issued. It was still planned to issue the SRT-8 version, but for the unknown reasons of it didn't occur. All these versions were equipped 5-speed with automatic shift W5A580.
Jeep Commander has a classical angular body and 7-seat configuration of the salon. Actually, the Jeep Commander is an analog of the Grand Cherokee model. Unique feature of Jeep Commander is the existence of a panoramic roof of "Command View" thanks to which passengers of a back row can admire the surrounding nature. Thanks to a good noise isolation and a double glazing in saloon of this car very silently, seats are equipped with heating.
